Mr. Stephen Rutledge, 77, of Cameron, SC, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Rutledge was born on October 4, 1947, in Greenville, SC, son of the late Wilton Frank Rutledge and Lucia Cooley Rutledge. Mr. Rutledge proudly served his country as a United States Marine for four years and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. A hardworking, old-school man, he was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to make the most out of anything—he could take a dollar and turn it into a hundred. He was a devoted father and deeply loved his family.
Mr. Rutledge had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time fishing. He worked as a maintenance technician and took great pride in fixing things and restoring them to like-new condition.
Surviving are his son, Stephen G. (Regena) Rutledge of Timmonsville; grandchildren, Lynnleigh Rutledge, Hunter Parkhurst and Andi McDaniel; great grandchildren, Karson Coker; sisters and brothers.
Mr. Rutledge was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda G. Rutledge, and a brother.
