Stephen Alton "Steve" McMillan, Jr.

Mr. Stephen Alton “Steve” McMillan, Jr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Mr. McMillan was born on April 4, 1940, in Florence County, a son of the late Stephen Alton McMillan, Sr. and Orie Evans McMillan. He attended Lake City First Baptist Church. Steve earned a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of South Carolina and worked at the Pentagon prior to his retirement.              

Steve was a loving uncle and great-uncle to his family.

Surviving are his nephew, Cori (Alecia) Cooper; his great-niece, Brooke Cooper, affectionately referred to as “My Angel”; and other extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl McMillan Cooper.

Per Mr. McMillan’s request, there will be no service.
