Steve Allen Gowdy

Mr. Steve Allen Gowdy, 76, husband of Linda Yarborough Gowdy, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Gowdy was born on September 24, 1949, in Clarendon County, son of the late Earl Gowdy and Lucille Schaut Gowdy. He was a graduate of Lamar High School and proudly served in the United States Navy. After many dedicated years as a truck driver, he retired from Old Dominion Freight Lines. Steve was a friend to everyone he met and especially enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Yarborough Gowdy; son, Legrande (Annique) Gowdy; daughter Dawn (Kevin) Johnson; grandchildren, Rebecca, William, Lucas, Hunner, Dalton, Abbigail, Sara Beth and K J; great grandchild, Kaden; brother, Lee Gowdy; sister, Sharon (Clyde) Gulledge; fur baby, Ozzie.

As per the request of Mr. Gowdy, there will be no service.
