Obituary
Mrs. Sumiko Gaja Evans, 78, wife of the late Mike Evans, passed away at her home in Pamplico.
Mrs. Evans was born on February 23, 1948, in Okinawa, Japan, daughter of Tokushi and Tsune Gaja. She attended Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Evans was a very independent lady who worked as a seamstress and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen (Randy) Driggers and Amy (Chris) Earle; grandson, David Driggers; as well as one sister and two brothers.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Michael Evans; as well as a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 Noon.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
