Mrs. Susan LaRue Baxter, 79, of Timmonsville, wife of Bobby G. Baxter, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
Mrs. Baxter was born on September 8, 1945, in Plainfield, New Jersey, daughter of the late Robert Krog and Dorothy Smith Krog.
Susan was a devout Christian woman who always put others before herself. Her compassion and empathy endeared her to all who knew her. A resident of South Carolina for over 40 years Susan lived up and down the east coast before calling the Palmetto State home. Every house she lived in quickly became a home. She raised 3 sons while working a myriad of different jobs from switchboard operator, paralegal assistant, office manager, property manager to special education teacher’s assistant and many more in between – all while maintaining an immaculate home. She believed in a place for everything and everything in its place. The same love and values she passed to her sons continued with her daughters-in-law, grandchildren and niece.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby G. Baxter of Timmonsville; sons, David (Melissa) Baxter of Madison, AL and Jason (Michelle) Baxter of Pamplico; grandchildren, Faith Baxter, Bryce Baxter, and Victoria Brooke Baxter; brother, William (Carol) Krog; niece, Brittany (Chris) Ianson.
Mrs. Baxter was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Baxter and 3 siblings.
A small family celebration of her life will occur next summer. The family is available for family and friend visits at 222 West Deer Road, Timmonsville. Please contact one of the family members.
