Vida Beard Floyd

Vida Beard Floyd, 80, wife of the late Horace Lamar Floyd, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

Mrs. Floyd was born on November 25, 1945, in Clarendon County, daughter of the late Henry Timmons Beard and Evelyn Ross Beard. She attended Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Floyd’s hobbies included sewing and flowers, and her greatest joy was being a grandmother and great grandmother.

Surviving are her son, Russell Lamar “Rusty” Floyd; daughter, Gayle (Howard) Nexsen; grandchildren, Chris (Lindsey) Nexsen, Ryan Nexsen, Brandon Floyd; great grandchildren, Chloe, Miles and Macey; sister, Diane (Ralph) Christmas; brother, Homer (Willa Rhea) Beard.

Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Floyd; sisters, Myrtle Lee Jordan, Roseline Floyd, Mary Alice Anderson; brothers, Raymond and Richard Hoyt “Bossie” Beard.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
