Virginia (Parrott) Ducote

Ms. Virginia Parrott Ducote, 84, died Monday, June 20, 2022, at Saluda Nursing Center, after an illness.

Ms. Virginia was born on March 1, 1938, in Florence County, daughter of the late Bennie LaRue Parrott and Angie Ard Parrott. She attended Faith Holiness Church. Ms. Virginia loved her grandchildren and her family. She cooked for her family every Sunday. Ms. Virginia had a heart of kindness, took care of the sick, always caring for others and was gifted with babies and children.

Surviving is her daughter, Mary Ann Crumbley of Scranton; grandchildren, Jennifer (Robbie) Gauthier and David (Victoria) Gauthier, both of Lake City, Ginger (Chad) Rude of Gilbert, Annie (Stanley) Thomas of Greenwood, Clifton Porter of Abbeville, Tristan (Lauren) Porter of Emerald Isle, NC; siblings, Martha Ann Gaskins of Johnsonville, Sara Jane Smith of Columbia, Mary (Bobby) Moore of Scranton, Gary (Janet) Parrott of Lake City, Russell (Lois) Parrott of Valdosta, GA, Leonard Gene Walker of Columbia; son-in-law, Jon Porter of Abbeville; beloved brother-in-law, Freddie Ayers; sisters-in-law, Hazel Jean Parrott of Timmonsville and Sherry Parrott of Cheraw; 9 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ms. Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Marlow; siblings, Shirley Parrott, Edward Parrott, John Parrott, Paul Parrott, Patsy Ayers and LaRue Parrott.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Lake City.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the funeral home prior to the services.
