Mrs. Wanda Floyd Blakeley, 67, of Scranton, wife of Jimmy D. Blakeley, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Mrs. Blakeley was born on January 1, 1959, in Berkeley County, daughter of the late Richard Floyd and Vernie Howard Floyd. She worked as an administrative assistant to Judge George Thomy until his retirement, then briefly for Tanner Inspection Company before retiring to become a homemaker. Several years later, she opened her home as a babysitter and became a beloved “MiMi” to many children.
She was a woman of deep Christian faith, which sustained her through two battles of cancer. Even on the most difficult days, she refused to complain.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Michael “Mikey” Blakeley (Kim), Christopher “Chris” Blakeley, Briana Blakeley, and Brandon Blakeley (Haley); grandchildren, Emily Beth Gladden (Austin), Landon Blakeley, Matthew Blakeley, and Maci Blakeley, along with their mother, Rita Blakeley, who remained a beloved presence in the family; great-grandchildren, Ellie Gladden and Charlie Gladden; and siblings, Richie Norwood, Anne Weatherford, Billy Brady and Ricky Floyd.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 26, 2026, at The Bible Temple, located at 195 Gause Canal Road, Coward, SC 29530. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
