Wayne Ervin Jones

Wayne Ervin Jones, 80, loving husband of Jewel Herring Jones, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at his home in Pamplico.

Mr. Jones was born on March 25, 1943, in Florence County, son of the late William Eugene Jones and Gernon Bazen Jones. He was a Veteran of The United States Air Force and retired after more than 30 years of service with the South Carolina Forestry Commission, as a Warden. Mr. Jones was a member of Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Jewel Herring Jones of Pamplico; son, Ashley Jones of Pamplico; daughter, Kathy (Wesley) Wilson of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Georgia Jones, Ava Grace Isgett, both of Pamplico, Eady Wilson and Finley Wilson, both of Denver, NC; sister, Sherry (Tommy) Dowdy of Pamplico.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Jones and his brother, Mitchell Jones.

To our daddy and “papa”, thank you for being so passionate about our future and education and ensuring that we had the necessary resources to live a successful and productive life. We love you forever daddy.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 5, 2023, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico, with burial to follow at church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Friday, May 5, 2023, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico.
