Mr. Willard Levon “Rooney” Lynch, 83, of Scranton, husband of Cathy Bellflowers Lynch, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Mr. Lynch was born on September 25, 1941, in Florence County, son of the late Owens Lynch and Pauline Lee Lynch. Mr. Lynch, a retiree of CSX Railroad after 33 years of dedicated service, was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He enjoyed spending his time watching NASCAR and listening to country music, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. His presence will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Cathy Lynch of Scranton; son, Wade (Norma) Lynch of Columbia; sister, Jeanette Boyd of Florence; along with special nieces and nephew.
Mr. Lynch was preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Tedder and Janie Ruth Wilkes.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to McLeod Hospice House for their wonderful care. They also wish to thank Timmy & Patricia Tedder and Michael & Linda Braxton for their love and support of their uncle, Rooney, during this time.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Elmore-Carraway Cemetery, Coward.
