William Hartwell Coward

William Hartwell Coward, 83, of Manning, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Pocotaligo River Health and Rehab.

Mr. Coward was born on December 2, 1940, in Florence County, son of the late Thaddeus Fred Coward and Gladys Carmon Coward. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, loved the outdoors and was a retired sewing plant manager.

Surviving are his children, William “Billy” Coward, Jr. of Seneca, Anthony Wayne (Joan) Coward, Sr. of Kingstree and Brenda Kennedy (William Hodge) of Manning; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Hewitt of Manning and Travis Walker of NC.

Mr. Coward was preceded in death by siblings, Miriam Yarborough, Thaddeus Fred Coward and Jessie Ray Coward.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, 215 E. Hwy 378 Bypass, Scranton.

Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Coward.
