William Samuel Prosser

Mr. William Samuel Prosser, 78, of Scranton, husband of Joyce Knight Prosser, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Prosser was born on February 5, 1947, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Joseph Armstrong Prosser and Lecoulia Daniels Prosser. Mr. Prosser faithfully attended Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he found strength in his faith and community. He was a certified commercial plumber and took great pride in his work, serving with Jones Plumbing in Sumter and later with City Plumbing in Florence. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the care he put into every job.

He was also a proud member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed spending time outdoors. At home, Mr. Prosser loved nothing more than cooking for the people he cared about. He especially enjoyed grilling over an open fire pit, creating meals that brought his family together. He was well known for his homemade BBQ sauce and his famous chicken bog, dishes he perfected over the years and shared generously with friends and loved ones. His cooking, like his presence, brought warmth and comfort to those around him.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Joyce K. Prosser of Scranton, are his daughters, Robin Prosser, Stacey (Jarvis) Watford, and Sharon (Will) Brown; bonus daughter, Laura (Ronald) Wise: grandchildren, Tiffany (Chris) White, Christopher (Elizabeth) Connell, Courtney Watford, Hannah Guthrie and Haven (Matthew) Sheffield; great grandchildren, Sadie Connell and Millie Connell; sisters, Joanne Hanniford, Lizzie Feagin and Pat Collins; along with several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Mr. Prosser was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Elaine Hughes Prosser; daughter, Tammy Prosser; grandchild, Savannah Elaine Neisler; 5 siblings; and his fur baby, “Baby”.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at the Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
