Willie Burns Wise, 78 of Pamplico passed away on October 25, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House following a hard fought battle with cancer.
Willie was born on May 30, 1943 in Scranton, SC to the late Joseph Lonnie Wise and Pearlie Mae Yarborough Wise.
He was a graduate of Hannah High School. Willie was a dedicated employee at General Electric, Florence for 33 years as a Maintenance Technician. He was a life member of Amity Lodge No.340 where he served for 44 years. He held positions as Worshipful Master, District Deputy Grand Master and Chaplain. He was a devoted and loving person who cherished his family and friends. He enjoyed researching and sharing family genealogy.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Landa Poston Wise of Pamplico; daughter Amy (Mark) Creel of West Columbia; sons, Gary Wise of Lake City and Lonnie (Hillary) Wise of Parker, Colorado; grandchildren, Amber (James) Bernard of Charlotte, NC, Emily (Andrew) Habash of Lexington, Taylor Wise of Arlington, Va., Julian Wise of Parker, Colorado and Emerson Wise of Parker, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Magnolia Habash of Lexington, and Jimmy Bernard of Charlotte, NC.
Surviving also are brother Allen Wise of Florence; sisters, Blondell Turner of Lexington, NC, Mary (Edd) Poston of Pamplico and Nellie Gaskins of Lake City; many nieces and nephews and his loyal canine companion “Scooter”.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his brothers, Ervin Wise, Alex Wise, Oral Wise and Harry Wise; and his sister Wilma Caraway.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 28, 2021 and a funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, SC, with burial to follow at St. John FWB Church Cemetery, Pamplico.
