Mr. Willie Leverne “Verne” Lee, Jr., 48, of Coward, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, due to injuries sustained in an accident.
Willie Leverne Lee, Jr. was born on December 28, 1976, in Florence County, son of Willie Leverne Lee, Sr. and Brenda Lynch Lee. He was a graduate of Lake City High School, attended the Bible Temple and worked as a truck driver with Florence County Public Works. He was also the proud owner and operator of LLJR Trucking. A dedicated member of the Omar Shrine Mt. Pleasant, he was also a lifetime member of the Pamplico Masonic Lodge #324. He greatly enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends and going to Bike Week at Myrtle Beach.
Surviving in addition to his parents, Leverne and Brenda Lee of Coward, are his sister, Michele (Chris) Gaskins of Coward; nieces, Hailee Gaskins and Kendra Gaskins (Taylor) Holladay; special aunt, Myra Lynch (Charles) Powell; uncles, Jack (Renee) Lynch and Pete (Edna Earl) Lee; numerous friends and extended family members; and his beloved K-9 companion and sidekick, Jake.
Verne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommy Lynch, Sr. & Sara Lynch, Edward Farmer & Dorothy M. Farmer; uncles, Johnny Lynch, Thomas Lynch, David Lynch and Steve Lynch; aunts, Nancy Lynch Daves and Marie Baxley; and dear friend, Bobby Miles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 9, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at The Bible Temple. Burial with Masonic rites will follow at The Garden of Rest, Bible Temple Cemetery, Coward.
