Zach Burch Smith

Zack Burch Smith of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on December 17, 2024.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, Samuel Edward Smith of Marion and Mary Lawrence Gaddy of Lake City, SC., as well as his brother Samuel Edward Smith, Jr.  Zack leaves behind a wife, Kay Currin Smith of Murrells Inlet, SC and a daughter Laura Smith Brant (Marshall) of Summerville, SC., a brother, Thomas Richard Smith (Sharon) , niece Leanne Smith of Murrells Inlet and nephew Thomas Zack Smith (Kait) of Gastonia, NC , as well as  great nephews River and Redding Smith also of Gastonia.  

Zack graduated Lake City High School and studied at Spartanburg Junior College. He worked for Gem Marine in Lake City and Stone Container in Florence, SC.

He spent many hours on the Waccamaw and Black Rivers skiing with friends, being especially talented with the slalom ski. He was a devoted husband and father who loved animals, Clemson football, and music. Zack was a member of Belin United Methodist Church and an active member in AA. He will be greatly missed by all.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
