Mr. Zollie Wilkes, Jr, 77, of Olanta, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, at Heritage Home of Florence.
Zollie Wilkes, Jr. was born on October 1, 1947, in Florence County, son of the late Zollie Wilkes, Sr. and Juanita Wilkes. Mr. Wilkes was a faithful member of Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church until his health declined. He retired from Alvy’s Auto Electric, as an Automotive Electrical Technician where he was well-respected for his skill and dedication.
In his spare time, he enjoyed keeping his yard neat, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and following his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. Known for his friendly nature, he never met a stranger and was always quick to share a smile or a conversation.
Surviving are his son, Brian (Ashley) Wilkes; daughter, Anita (Jimmy) Wilkes Feagin; grandchildren, Raylen Wilkes, Summer (Zac) Barrett, and Landon Matthews; great grandchild, Zollie Barrett; sisters, Bonnie Ruth Lee and Gertrude McGee; sister-in-law, Mamie Wilkes.
Mr. Wilkes was preceded in death by grandsons, B.J. Wilkes and Austin Matthews; siblings, Woodrow Wilkes, Ida Mae Oliver, Dewey Wilkes, Jessie Wilkes, Troy Wilkes, Jack Wilkes, Maria McGee, Bobbie Jean McGee and Tom Wilkes.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will be at Lake City Memorial Park.
